Hello! I'm Kate.
Some facts about me:
⭐ I live in the beautiful city of San Francisco (but don't want to see you guys calling it San Fran!)
⭐ I work as a development director for the Boy Scout council here, meaning I fundraise to help youth gain leadership skills!
⭐ I graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia with a degree in public administration & policy and a minor in leadership & public service.
College Facts:
⭐ I grew up middle-class in the Midwestern suburbs outside St. Louis. Nobody really knew how to apply to college.
⭐ I went through the college admissions process twice because I didn't know what I was doing the first time. The second time around, I was accepted to my dream school and was accepted to three Top 20 universities (I also think this elitism is ridiculous).
⭐ Going through the process twice meant writing 50+ college admissions essays.
⭐ However, I didn't end up leaving my university. Instead, I moved to San Francisco after my first year and studied remotely.
⭐ I managed to graduate in only 2 years, which was through strategies I want to teach YOU. I still graduated as one of the top 65 students in my class of 5,000+ with nominations for the Truman, Marshall, and Rhodes scholarships with a major, minor, and two certificates.
⭐ During this time, I also worked 10+ jobs, ran a non-profit, started a campus club, and published articles reaching 1M+ people.
⭐ When I graduated, it was DEBT-FREE!!! I hadn't expected this and spent many nights crying over how much debt I thought I would have from my degree.
⭐ I have wanted to start this business for years. Coming from the Midwest, I see how much of a struggle it is for kids from lower and middle-class families to choose the right school, apply, and succeed in college. I did everything on my own, and I want to be an affordable resource for students to follow the path that's right for them.
I would love to get to know everyone here better. Drop a fun fact about yourself down below! 👇
